EBC Membership Rules

1.Members must use the GymCatch App as specified on the website to book. They must complete all relevant questionnaires during the profile set up phase. We do not accept cash. Any other means of payment must be agreed in advance. Any changes to member details must be updated by the member.

2. Under 18’s must have their parent/guardian set up the initial profile on GymCatch. Please set the profile up as the person’s attending’s name.

3. Competing boxers must pay for their annual medicals and registration with England Boxing and the Southern Counties. Recreational boxers must pay for their annual medicals should they choose to spar.

4. Eastbourne Boxing Club will not permit our members to compete in any competitions outside of England Boxing rule (ie white collar). This includes using the club for preparation for these bouts. The club will use their own discretion for those members aged 40+ years who cannot compete in England Boxing competitions.

5.Suitable sports clothing and footwear must be worn at all times. Trainers, loose clothing – Strictly no denim. Only clean trainers or boxing boots allowed on the matting. Please bring with you a pre-filled water bottle.

6.Boxers must wear hand wraps and have their own fitted gum shield. These are available to purchase from reception. £3 each or both for £5.

7.Personal belongings are brought into the club at the owner’s risk. Eastbourne Boxing Club cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage. Members are encouraged to use the lockers provided. When lifting free weights, spotters must be used. Seniors only may lift free weights under instruction of a coach. Youths may lift weights but under strict one to one supervision by a coach.

8.Return all free weights and equipment back to the racks/storage area after use. Collars must be used to secure discs on barbells.

9.The gym is for physical workouts and training sessions only, not socialising.

10.Members and Coaches only are permitted past the kitchen area onto the matting. England Boxing rules dictate there must be a partition between boxers and spectators. Talking to members during sessions will not be permitted from spectators.

11.Boxing skills learned at the club may only be used at the club under coach supervision or at organised England Boxing Events. 

12.Eastbourne Boxing Club and its members must abide by the England Boxing Safeguarding Policy

13.The club and its members must abides by all England Boxing Policies which will be enforced by the club and must be adhered to by all members.

14.Eastbourne Boxing Club reserves the right to exclude members who we feel are acting in breach of the above rules or bring the club into disrepute.

15.Eastbourne Boxing Club boards’ decision is final.
