On the 5th of May, Sussex Boxing Association lead a strong team of seven boxers to compete against a select team of French boxers in Paris. The trip was organised and lead by Eastbourne coach Paul Hipperson and hosted by our long term friends the Boxing Beats club and the charity planetcitizens.fr.

The competition was a great success with Sussex coming out on top at a score of 4 bouts to 3. Eastbourne’s Dr Zehra Gozen won her bout with a strong performance.

There was also time for some sightseeing (the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the river Seine) and we tried some delicious French food. Next on our travels is Bologna, Italy on June 10th where Zehra and Ethan Finlayson will be competing. We will be welcoming a group of French young people from Paris in July who will training and spending time with us.
